I just bought a new fiberglass ducktail on ebay. What are the best grille options considering lightweight, function, etc...??? And where to buy???
Thanks, Dan

You should first determine whether it accepts the late plastic grill or the early metal grill. If it is new, I would bet plastic, which would be the same one you have on your Carrera now (Assuming it is sans tail). Metal grills are no longer made, but can be purchased on e-bay for $50-75.

I think all the aftermarket ducktails are designed use the early metal grills. You can use the later plastic grill but you will have to do a bit of cutting on the edges to get it to fit.

To save a pound or so, you could get some Al gridwork and then put a rubber gasket around it.

I used early polished metal grill.
Many have used the plastic grill which is found cheaper on Ebay. To reduce weight, how about expanded metal in aluminum powdercoated black.
