Acessory plug install???

I want to install a acessory plug to power my cell phone and also have a place to plug in a small air compressor. My question is...... where is the best place to pickup 12vdc preferably switched, I'm not interested in splicing into any wiring harness but looking for a good place to connect to a termnal.

I know someone else out there has the answer I'm looking for.

Thanks a bunch guys.............KC

I removed the glove box yesterday thinking that I would use the lighter supply wire .......but it's not acessable form the glove box, then it was time to quit for the day.
As for using the fighter for the acess.......the hole is to big for all the plugs. Still might try to replace it with a acess. plug if I can make it look like a factory install.

Thanks..........KC

What about running a dedicated wire from the battery with an inline fuse and a switch. There's a small hole on the pass. side by the hinge in the trunk which comes through just under the dash. I used this method to run a dedicated power source to my stereo so I could switch it on without the key in, for when I am working on the car and want to listen to tunes. Works well and is easy to do.

I taped into the power supply to the radio with a fuseable link. I have the power supply mounted (with velcro) to the top of the shifter console. I use it for XM radio. It can be mounted under the radio so it is out sight (future project for me). The wires hide nice under the carpet to the back of dash. Picture shows power supply. It is the gold thing in the center. It came with a black cap but decided to remove it.
Hope this helped.
