Ask again after it is running.
I know lots O' people who talk about installing SDS (including me).
I know NO ONE who has a car that is running on SDS. They must be out there, I just don't know them or remember reading about any sucess stories.
For a long time I figured it was just a myth made up by bench racers.
Now's your chance to speak up, anyone out there actually running SDS and making it work? Please prove me wrong, I'll eat my words.

Sammy, here's 1 example - http://www.sdsefi.com/features/jan03934.htm

Marc is one of the chief instructors in our PCA region & I run with him a lot, his car has been reliable & stable from what I can tell/see...

There's a fellow naimed Weikko on the Rennlist that has converted his SC to SDS and it seems to be working well for him.

I have it installed in my Lotus 7 clone on a Honda Vtech 2-liter 4-banger and after working out some bugs, I have found it to be a reliable and easily programmed system. A key issue seems to be making sure the Hall sensor mount on the crankcase (to read the position of the magnets in the pully) is rock-solid. The manual states that you should be able to pick up the engine by your mount--it needs to be THAT stout, and they aren't kidding. I had a vibration problem at certain RPMs caused by resonance that would make the sensor shake, and the computer would lose the RPM signal and shut down momentarily. After beefing up the mount so that it can't vibrate at all, no problems.

There also was an issue with the Vtech engagement relay backfeeding a spike to the ECU which was solved with a diode, but that would not be applicable to a Porsche installation, and it was documented in their tech material. I have found the factory telephone support to be outstanding as well. Combined with an Innovate wide band O2 sensor, I have been able to tune the engine very well with their programming module.

Afterburn, are you gagging to buy your system? I don't quite know how this is going to work, trying to get as many people together as soon as possible. how are you fixed?

Probably not ready to buy, but I live in Calgary and could talk to them for y'all (I think that's American for "all of you" eh?). Could also arrange for shipping if that is a problem....

thanks for the offer Dennis but to be honest Ross at SDS is such a helpful bloke that I think we are covered there. I have a friend in Canada that im having my system shipped to and shes bringing it to the uk in july for me as hand luggage so as to avoid the dreaded import tax and VAT but maybe other people in the group could use your help in that area if you know what i mean Thanks again Dennis, Ill let you know.
