Did I damage my AFM?
I have been trying to track down the cause of my hesitation and bucking in my '88 Carrera ( 80k miles ). I replaced the cap and rotor and installed Magnacor wires and new plugs this winter. It bucked once or twice a few years ago, but now it is every time I pull away from a stop or jump on the throttle. I replaced the cylinder head temp sensor tonight with no improvement.
During the winter I replaced my oil pressure switch and I removed my airbox and air flow meter to gain better access. I did not realize that my airbox was dry and cracked, and when I removed it from the engine bay, the four bolts that connect the AFM to the airbox pulled through. This sent the AFM to the floor from a height of about three feet onto the Kiwi tile ( plastic floor cover ) in my garage. So do you think its my AFM that is causing the trouble? What are my options? Can they be rebuilt or do I have to buy a new one? Thank for your time. Weaver
