Siren in early 911 or 912
I have a few questions.
Today I saw a 1971 californian 911T with a siren as an alarm in it. My father had the same siren in his 1969 912, from new, from the dealer in Huntington Beach. My dad removed the siren, and was told it was illegal, and replaced it with an electric bell. (which wasn't any fun anymore) Has anyone else seen these sirens? Were they only in Los Angeles? Or common all over? Would they still be illegal? Thanks, Scott ![]() |

Hook it up to the horn, with a relay of course. Actually I think those take a second to "warm up" so leave the existing horn in place for quick response, and wire this one in parallel!

As a horn, that would be something...no doubt very illegal...as it sounds just like a cop car. And exceptionally loud.
