WTF is wrong w/ search function??

Sorry, but I'm getting a little frustrated here. It seems as though a simple search engine, (that looks for words/characters), would be about the most simple thing that a computer or software could do. I have frequently had problems w/ the search function here, inputing words that are absolutely in the post I'm looking for, and I get zip results back. Sometimes I think that I'm going crazy, but then I eventually find the thread somehow and sure enough, there's the word(s) i was using.

Right now, it's just fugged. I can punch in my name, (6000+ posts), and the word "Porsche", and I get nada.

I really need to find something that is on this site right now, and it's making me want to punch a wall. TIA for any help.

FWIW, I don't need help learning how to use a search engine, I do it all day long w/ great success elsewhere. Just what's up w/ this one. Thanks.

Happens to me too. What you looking for? Perhaps I can help.

Tried "Speeder" under user name, and "Porsche" under keyword and got 20 pages. Don't know what is wrong. I would take it up with Wayne directly.

Thanks, I'll accept your help. I'm looking for a complete list of option codes that Anzures, (user name yellowbirdRS or RS yellowbird or something) posted a while back. I've found it before, it is on a thread that I also posted on. Title of thread is something like, "what options were available on a 1986 blah, blah, blah....... :)

It is true that I may not remember exact wording of posts, (who would?), but I have put in enough terms that I know are in the thread. Arrrrgh....

If someone finds this for me, please note what words and other options you used. I may be doing something wrong, but it's worked for me before. TIA.

OK, I found it.

I finally found it using the 443rd set of words, (that are in the thread). Google this ain't.

Here it is, in case anyone else wants it:

Denis, Glad you found it.

Not sure if you need this but here's a "real time" version of the code list: http://www.kindel.com/Porsche/options.asp If you enter an asterisk you'll get pretty much every code.

Denis--
FWIW, I've had similar 'issues' occasionally. What you can do is click on the Email this page button (right under the Post Quick Reply Box) and send it to your email account. Then you always have a link to the thread (I just stash them in a Porsche folder on my email account).

Just my .02

That's a good idea Steve, thanks.
