Please identify this front spoiler...

I'm looking to get an original version of this.

Here's a pic that was in the GT Racing catalog.

Can you identify this, is it available still? If not, anybody know where I can get one?

Thanks

TonyG

From what I believe, that spoiler came with the slant nose 911's.

The top pic looks to be from the 930S but could also be fitted onto any car with front turbo flares. Some manufacturers also made a narrow body version of the top spoiler.

The bottom is a different design that I've never seen. Looks to be similar but has an additional rubber lip and circular (brake duct?) cutouts as opposed to foglight cutouts.

Edit: The bottom does look to be the narrow body version with an add on lip and foglight inserts. AIR may carry this type of spoiler. I dont believe it was ever made of metal.

As Rick states, those were never made in metal, only fiberglass or polyurethane.

If you find one, could I borrow it to make a mold from? I work with advanced composites and I would be glad to share parts form the mold....Joel

Joel,

Do you want a narrow body version or wide body?

Where are you located?

I am in Texas, just south of Austin. My car is a stock body 1975 911s. I will put up some photo's soon. It should not be hard to make a mold and just do a hand layup, vacuum bagged, air temp cure on the part. I do not have access to an autoclave right now. I would love to find a piece to make to sell. They could be made cheap enough so a 'spare' would not be too expensive to have around. Materials should be $40-$60 or even less depending on how many layers it needs.

Sounds like a great idea. I'd love to have a spare around here. I've had mine repaired a couple of times.

Points you may want to consider:

-Would the spoiler work on early, mid and SC/Carrera cars. It wont work with a wide body.

-Shipping may be where the price goes up.

-If you can't find a narrow version you may be able to cut and reconfigure a wide version.

-Consider making from a (more) flexible material.

-Improve design to accept a front grill and/or screen. I had to do all custom. I will share the design if interested.

I purchased this spoiler from GT Racing. It is marketed as the 930S spoiler, and I have a narrow-body car. I do not recall if it was/is available for a widebody.

Lightbulb Where to get front spoiler

Boy, talk about not seeing the forest for the trees!!
These front spoilers are available in many variations and either F/G or carbon fiber, from GT Racing(www.gt-racing.com) as stated in the very first post!! Duuhh! The picture in that post is from their catalog AS STATED ON THE PICTURE!! They run $465.00
for any version. They have many F/G body parts for porsche, all geared toward hard-core racing, but if you want your Porsche to loose weight, this is the place to go !!
