Honest eBay dealer....

I called the eBay seller about a 79 SC yeasterday to see if I could get a PPI scheduled etc etc. They weren't crazy about me taking the car to another dealer to get the PPI, but that's another story...

Anyhow, they offered to do compression and leakdown testing at no cost in their shop (this is before the end of auction) to give me piece of mind about the car. Long story short, #5 came up short and they were kind enough to call me about the problem.

They are going to follow-up with a valve adjust to see if it fixes the problem and then report back. I guess I'm just a little surprised that a dealer would confirm that they had a car with a possible engine problem that could be costly to repair.

Just wanted to pass that along.

BTW, 1,2,3,4,6 were 115-125 w/ no more than 10% leakdown. #5 was 90 w/ much higher leakdown....sorry, I forget the number.
