Thumbs up from Nashville

Don’t know if these were Pelican cars or not.

1st car was a Guards Red SC or a Carrera w/Fikse or BBS wheels blasting down West End Ave across from the gates at Vanderbilt Wednesday morning. I wasn’t close enough to get a good look at the car, but I could here it coming. Very nice!

2nd car was a beige SC w/ducktail and 16x6/7 fuchs outside of Blackstone Wednesday night. Great looking car!

saw a handfull of really cool cars today. Must have been the perfect weather

I'm here every week through June, so I'll just keep bumping this thread everytime I see a cool car. Hopefully I'll run into a group of Pelicans before I move on to the next project. 1st round is on me at Dan McGuiness, Blackstone, or the Broadway Brewhouse.

Silver 993 C2 on West End in front of the Parthenon - gorgeous

'69 Sand Beige Soft Window targa outside of kalamatos - ****ing awesome car! Perfect! I was the schmuck yelling and giving the thumbs up from the Ford Focus rental in the parking lot.

While still drooling over the Targa, I hear the sound of a departing aircooled flat four. I think VW and when I look in my rear view mirror, I see a 356 going back down Broadway near Boscos

Silver Beck Spyder - outside of the Holiday End on West End. drool. I want one of these so bad.

Sorry about that. After spending 11 hrs at a client site with no Pelican access this stuff really gets me excited

Shuie,

Once the weather warms up, might I suggest hitting San Antonio Taco Co. for some tex/mex on 21st across from Vandy's campus. Order up some grub, get a bucket of beer and watch the co-ed's. Damn I miss Nashville sometimes.

Weather was spectacular today. Its been cold here lately, consistently at or below freezing last week. I havent been to the taco place yet, but Ive heard its a 'must do'. the hotel I was at was literally right around the corner from it. Ive been here weekly with my work since October. Its a great city.

Yup, I grew up there... went to high school a block down from Sat Co. Its a nice little town.

As for other places, if you want to strap on the feed bag, hit Monell's in germantown for amazing southern family style food. For some great music and good food, try Bluebird Cafe

Enjoy!

Hey Shuie! Welcome to my turf! Maybe we can hook up sometime when you are in town for meal. I've lived here for 24 years so I know a few places. Just let me know. I don't know of any other Pelicans in the Nashville area. I'm pretty sure the 69' beige soft window was a 912. It is wearing the original paint........very nice example.

Monells!! Two thumbs up. Great fried chicken, collard greens and black eyed peas and since it's family style you share tables and if your lucky you might get to share with some cute Vanderbilt girls. You won't regret it.

I'm kind of partial to Arnolds on 8th Ave South. It's more of a hole in the wall cinderblock square type place, but man that food is good.

Anybody in the west end area should check out Virago, best sushi in nashville, and loads of porsches. Usually 2-3 new turbos and some carreras every weekend.

I guess I'm one of the few Pelicans in Nashville. I work off West End, but actually live in Fairview.
I will be at Eurofest at The Factory in Franklin in May if anyone wants to meet up. There is supposed to be a very good Porsche turn out. I'll have my 85 Carrera there.

Best Sushi I know of in the greater Nashville area would be the Daily Buffet in Murfreesboro. All you can eat Sushi for $6.00 for lunch. Then again I guess I don't know good Sushi, but I know a good deal. No stomach cramps yet.

Boxsters are the most plentiful Porsche in Nashville, but I don't see that many 911's. Eurofest and the Grand Ole Weekend ought to be nice. I hope I can make it. I'm glad they are bringing back the Grand Ole Weekend, because that is when I got bitten by the Porsche bug circa 1990.
