New rocker panels or new rocker panles cover?
On pelican the rocker panels ar $118 each... the rocker panel covers are $350 and $500 for left and right... I want to make sure I buy the correct piece.

The panels...the end covers should be the same...I'd have to check the part numbers on the covers to be sure. I don't think the factory would have passed up the opportunity to use a shelf item for the covers (i.e. the non-turbo covers).

Sorry for hte hijack Tyson....show us some more pictures man!

Eric, he ordered the correct wheels from Germany. It will be a legit conversion, aesthetically. Those buggers were pricey! $$$$$$

We just flat-bedded the car to the body shop today. I'll have Joe Herreros drop by there to take some progress pics. Then I'll post more when it comes time for the rest.

Looks good but why not copy Matters cage design?

Elombard 06-10-2005 05:01 PM

She is a beaut.....but if it was my money I would have gone with Fikses or similar in that size. For some reason I always thought those turbo 18s were a little to bling. To 'jewelry' for the track. But thats probably why I dont have that kind money :-))

Tyson Schmidt 06-10-2005 08:03 PM

It's a Safety Devices roll cage, because that's what the owner wanted to spend. I would've preferred a custom fabricated Chro-Moly bolt-in cage, but that would've been $1000 more.

On the wheels, those are the correct wheels for an RSR. They are 10's and 12's, but otherwise just like the Speedline wheels that came on the '94 Turbo 3.6.

Like Fikse's aren't blingy?

Elombard 06-11-2005 05:16 AM

I hear ya, but for some reason the Fikses and some of the others (Work, CCW, etc.) look all business to me???

Tyson Schmidt 06-11-2005 08:18 AM

Powder coat them black, then they're all business. Otherwise, they're all blingy. But I like 'em.

These do look a little too pretty for a track car, but hey, the owner drives a 996, and a Cayenne Turbo. I don't think he'd drive anything that didn't look good.

The car actually looks extra flashy in these pics. Probably due to the flash from the camera. In person, it just looks mean.
