Brake Hard/soft line question

Meandering through my latest projects: brake/oil cooler rebuilds.

I like doing brakes, have found the 911s to be fairly simple...clip for the hard line was new though. Started on the fronts tonight, but when I went to pull the caliper up, there wasn't a clip between the soft and hard lines???? I don't see any way the mounts will come off so I can release the caliper. Have looked in Bentley's and the 101 but can't find a thing. Am I missing something? Am I trying too hard???

You mean this one?

Yes, similar, but the bracket is welded to the strut (rt front). Large nut on the soft side of the bracket, then like a bowed spring, then a small nut on the hard side. The bowed spring-like part doesn't have a split (like the rear ones do), I'd hate to take it apart if I don't have to. Could just disconnect the line from the caliper, but seems a waste just to replace a rotor.

Looks like this:

Here are the parts, it comes apart just like the rear

Rob, you have to separate the two lines. You've seen that the lines are attach to the strut. Nothing you can do about that.

I am no expert, but I just took my rotors off w/o disconnecting the brake line. There is some flex in the lines, enough to pull the caliper off the rotor to remove the hub and rotor. You will need to support the caliper so it does not hang from the hard line. Make sure you have some wire handy BEFORE you remove the caliper bolts.

I just remove the hard line at the caliper, and keep the brake pedal pressed in slightly with a board. That keeps fluid from running out the end of the brake line.

What Zonas said works. There also should be enough flex to remove the caliper with the line connected too. Just be careful.

Really appreciate the feedback...I thought I was going nuts and had missed something. It's always amazing figuring out how each manufacturer comes up with the same solution, but this is the first time I've had to "wiggle" the rotor off. Trust me, I will be careful.

cheers!
