better sound ?

Hello , I have a 911 3.2 original engine with original muffler
and I woulk like to change the sound of the car .
What would give me a good , LOW , sound ?
I don't want any screaming racecar sound , but a more "rumbling" low sound .
Should I change muffler + pre muffler + air intake ?

Can anyone give me a link with sounds ?

thanks !SmileWavy

I just swapped out the stock muffler and cat on my 3.2 for a GHL sport cat and muffler, and I love the sound. It's only a little louder, but deeper. Plus, the car feels like it picked up a couple of horsepower.

thanks for the sounds !

everybody tells me to replace the cat with a straight pre-muffler,
but I wonder if this is allowed here in Belgium.

just changing muffler won't do the job I fear.

thanks !

Guy,

How would anyone know? I do this and every time I need a smog check, I just swap them back. Easy to do, about 20 minutes :)

Trust me on this, all you need is a MagnaFlow muffler. I put one on mine and it sounds like exactly what you are looking for. And as a bonus they are cheap, $450 for me at a local muffler shop. Also you dont need to change a lot of components for the sounds you want, of course that would help, but the right muffler will satisfy your needs.

i can certainly testify for this....beau's muffler gives me the shivers every time he hits the gas.....it sounds awesome! makes my stock SC sound like a big sewing machine. :(

Can you do this procedure yourself - do I need special tools

Muffler swaps are easy, unless of course you have SSI's and a stupid crossover pipe that gets in the way then you have to back date your heat to '74 and earlier style.....ask me how I know.

Seriously, it's an easy swap. Make sure you have new gaskets, the old ones will be toast. No special tools needed, maybe a cold beer but that's it...enjoy.
