Installing new rear rotors.Help please!!!
so i have the rear rotor off the car and with the emergency brake all the way down, i can spin the hub freely around. is this normal? even though the other side of the wheel in the rear is down on the ground and not turning?
also, after i mount the new rotor on, push it all the way in the back and screw on the 2 screws, it doesnt spin anymore. it's just jammed, even though the emergency brake is all the way down. normal? shouldn't i be able to rotate the rotor with the emer. brake down? thanks in advance. |
That why cars have differentials. If you had limited slip, you would probably not be able to turn one wheel with the other wheel on the ground.
Did you reset the emergency brakes? |
no, brakes were not reset. if i put a crowbar across the wheel studs, it does turn slightly, but not by hand.

Sounds like the you have to back off the emergency brake cables and/or adjusters. They're currently adjusted for the ID of your worn rotor-drums.

on-ramp. A year/type of your car would help. Sherwood beat me to it. Follow the procedure to adjust your E-brake as per manual.

the car is a 1983sc.
