Factory Seat Belt Question
I'm trying to figure out if the factory front seat belt (latch end attached to the belt) and the receptacle changed (mechanically not cosmetically) between a 74 911 and say a 964.
The PO put 964 seats in my 74 and used the receptacles mounted on the seats themselves not the originals mounted in the tunnel area. He never removed the original receptacles but now the 964 seats have been removed and I'm trying to figure out if the belts that he used were original 74 belts that he just used with the 964 receptacles or, if he used the belts from the 964 also. The car is at the body shop so I can't run out and test to see if the belts I have will work with the original receptacles. If they won't work, I'd like to try to start sourcing the correct belts now while the car is held up in the shop. I intend to use a 6 point harness for track events but, I'd like to have the factory belts for street use.

Gary,
964 seat belts fit the early receptacles. They are the same belts and seats from 86 to 94. I have had set from an 86 go into a pre 83 without any problem! Thank you, Jason |
