To Paint or / not To Paint...?
I was convinced that after my '85 Targa was demolished (SUV jumped a red light) I will just learn to live without it... NOT!
Here are some early pics of my new p-find. I bought it from the original owner in MD. It was one of those ‘trust but verify’ Interstate Agreements that would have made President Reagan happy. I drove to PA with his plates, he cashed my personal check, I sent the plates back and now waiting for the Title to arrive... The ‘facing the sky’ body parts are covered with blotches of bird droppings (pH=3.5). The “Nutmeg Brown” was a custom color (that he special ordered) for 1984 but it shows considerable wear. Pelican Wisdom: repaint same, resurface / respray the many s*t-dots or…?? Keep those letters coming? Jascha ![]() Last edited by Jascha; 02-11-2006 at 02:39 PM.. |

Congrats on your new ride! I looked at that car a couple weekends ago. It seemed to be a good driver other than the paint issue you mentioned. I passed as I'm picky and just don't want to deal with paint right now.
Did you have a PPI done? I'm curious how it came out. Also, how much did he come down from his asking price? (just being nosey and wondering if I should kick myself) Shoot me an email or PM if you want to compare notes. |

Congratulations on the new car. I'd paint the whole thing the closest color you can find to what's on it now. Nice car! I'm sure you'll have fun with it!
