DME Chip Installation

Does anyone have a DME with a tuned chip FS, or where can I send my DMW to have my Vertex chip installed?

Its not difficult to install a chip in a DME. Go slow, do not force anything and ground yourself to the case of the DME before you start doing anything inside.

Joe, I understand the importance of grounding yourself to the case, but where do I clamp the jumper cables where it won't hurt so much?

Your foot works well, and make sure that it goes into bone so the ground is complete!

It isn't THAT critical. Just dont shuffle your feet across the carpet in wool socks before you open the DME. I've opened mine many times right on my workbench with no problems. There is no CMOS or other "highly sensitive" circuitry inside the DME's. They are very robust, and built for a pretty harsh environment under your seat.
