Can anyone tell me what the 930 could be worth? I know you'll probably need more info so I will try to be prompt on the questions and will try and post some pics.
|
Prices are all over the place.
Mileage is less of a concern than overall condition, maintenance records, and history. How many owners has your car had? What has been replaced (turbo, clutch, re-build, etc...)? Accidents? How is the paint (repaints)? A/C blow cold? How much is stock (K27, cams, etc...)? Your car could fetch as little as $15,000 and as much as $35,000... |
Considering what Emission said and what you know about the car, ask yourself a question - If I'm buying, how much would I pay for it?
|
Only 4K since you purchased? Unless you stole it or paid too much I suspect your 930 would be worth about the same as what you paid if there were no other mods or rebuilt items.

clutch was replaced and transmission was rebuilt no accidents Paint is good, could use a real good buffing, I think the hood was repainted because of fading, I cant really tell since the seems dont seem to have any overspray. A/C is pretty cool, Never thought Porsche A/C worked but this car changed my opinion Everything is stock, no aftermarket parts at all. I changed the plugs and put magnecore wires on when I got it. |
exhaust, cam, R&P, and turbocharger changes can transform a 930, just make the selections with expert advice and your goals in mind, and I would be very surprised if you were unhappy with the response. Just drive a recent saab, volvo, audi to understand what a turbo can do in the low end. If this is what you want, you can do it with a 930 cheaper than you can change cars.

paul, where are you? Princeton area here!!

Dont sell it!! I have owned 4 pre G50 930 cars-change the ratio.believe me you can not imagine how well the car will perform when you do this.I also have a C2 turbo with the 5 speed G50 and the 4 speed with the powerhouse gears is waaay more fun.The 930 tops out at 155 but has no lag,the only other mods are a fabspeed exhaust and open intake from them. Please trust me on this you just can not imagine how awesome this set up works!!!

What does it cost to change the ring and pinion on a 930. My car has SC cams, Kokeln intercooler and their quickspool turbo setup, B&B headers and exhaust, & Euro fuel system. I do have a 4 speed. Would the R&P change on my car be overkill. My lag is not as bad as stock but is still there. Anybody with similiar mods change their R&P?

If you decide to sell, let me know...Ron 310.833.9119
Any photos? |
There's absolutely no dishonor in trading in a 3.3 930 for a newer, more docile C4. Both are amazing in different ways. Own the one you like and drive it as often as you can.

I would love that car........My dream ride !! I would be buried in it !!
|
Huck, I paid about 1700 bucks for the R and P in my car. Had the tranny rebuilt at the same time. Altogether it ran me a little over 4k. Oh, by the way, it is not over kill at all. Best money I ever spend on the car.
What lag? I have a cam, BB sys, euro fuel head, 3.4 piston set, and on and on. Jeff |
Hey Guys,
How exactly does changing the ring & pinion decreases the lag ? Could it help the lag in my 1991 C2 Turbo ? Thanks |
I have a fabspeed exhaust and intake on my C2 turbo, the two simple bolt-ons made a big diff. You might look into the nitrous mist kit that sprays an atomized mist over the intercooler. It will not harm your motor in any way because it just cools the air going into your intercooler only.
|
Yasir, it doesn't reduce lag at all. Your motor will rev a bit higher (approx. 500 rpm) so the turbo will come on sooner. It just feels like there's no lag. Heck of a lot more fun to drive.
Change a few things like free flow exhaust and you will feel a big difference. |
