Sc Floorboards Targe vs coupe ?

My car has no floorboards. It is a 1978 911SC.

I have a board from a 1983 Targa (euro) and athought it seems to fit, the accelerator seems to be obstructed. Pedal will not go all they way down board stops it. Remove the board and I get full throttle.

Checking around, there appears ( while at least they sell differnt versions coupe, targa, etc.) differences in floorboards coupe vs targa. I realy does fit , is this a difference i can adjust for - cut some board to free accelerator movement?

Really, do not want to spend the $$ on this. FYI - its a track car. Only reason I want to put on eit is the clutch stop. Is there an adjustment to the throlle cable that can be made ???

TIA

Earl

Targas have an extra reinforceing panel in the front footwell area, so coupe stuff (carpets, floor boards, dead pedals) won't fit. You should be able to make (ahem) adjustments with a saw.

Thom.

Thanks for the reply. You gave the courage to make "adjustments"

Thanks

Earl

Make sure the board will stop the accelerator pedal. If it doesn't you can cause damage to your linkage and suffer a stuck throttle!! Not fun. I have seen this happen with one of the aftermarket ones made. I make floorboards for 911 series cars and they are .125" thicker than the competition for this reason.

Cheers, James

James,

Speaking of floorboards, could you post a pic and let me know what you charge for a floorboard for an SC. You can email me if you prefer. Thanks!

You should only have to trim some off the left side of the board; the acc pedal section shouldn't have to be modified.

Edward, Here is a picture. They are water jet cut .190" 5052 AL. and come in Silver too. TRE Motorsports is your local dealer and have some in stock. Please feel free to e-mail me with any other questions.

Cheers, James

Thom, Thanks! They are probably slightly heavier, we're talking grams here, but much sturdier. Having seen a few of these fail( One person had their go pedal stuck at WOT due to a board bending) this is not a part to skimp on. It would be interesting to see how hard racers actually push the go pedal in the heat of the moment...

Cheers, James

Exactly. I have patterns for them all and the pedals are in the same place, coupe, Targa, cab. The difference is on the outboard side.

If you want to see a cool floorboard, the early sporto floorboard has a great deadpedal built in.
