Talking WooHoo! New 85 Carrera!

WooHoo! I just picked up my first 911 last night. As with any other cool purchase I've ever made it rained the whole drive home...Doh! 3-1/2 hours of nothing but heavy rain and traffic.

I was still smilen at the end of the trip though. I can't wait to start tinkering. I even placed my first Pelican order just minutes ago, LOL.

Here are a couple of required intro pics.

Congrats, Eric - you will not regret it! Next to being born to my parents, finding my '85 Carrera is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Good luck getting that s**t-eating grin off your face for the next 6 months. Great color, too.

Funny you should mention that, the Swepco has been done recently (according to records) and the valve adjusting tool is in my "project list" file.

Congrats Eric. You just took me back to last summer when I brought my new '86 Carrera home. Interesting thing is mine is also a Weisgold Metallic coupe. And what's more interesting is that I live just east of you near Hood River. A couple books that you may already have but are very helpful...

HAHA! I still have that grin, although it's only been a month since my purchase.

Great looking car Eric. Of course, I love the color-coded wheels too.

Get out and DRIVE!

Later,
Mike

So I'm wondering if this is the fastest "I got a new car post" to "I got a speeding ticket post" in Pelican history.

Actually, I didn't get a ticket, just a written warning. Lucky me as I didn't have the Bill of Sale in the car, the car hadn't been reported as sold yet and when he asked for proof of insurance all I could do was hand him my insurance card for another vehicle. Needless to say, the officer didn't look happy.

I'm still smilen though, wow these cars are fun!

Congrats Eric!

I've had mine for about six weeks now.

The first few weeks I was very lucky to dodge the law. Lots of

opportunities with everyone wanting to go for a little spin,

very tempting to see how she runs.

Bought some Swepco today ( I guess it's universal)

What great machines!

Eric,

Nice to know that next time I'm in my hometown, that I can see a fellow Pelican. Congrats!

3.5 hours from Vancouver...guess you found it up around Redmond?

You should take it for a spin to Lacamas Lake headed East from 164th Ave (assuming that it doesn't have stoplights every ten feet by now). Try the Washougal River road. I'd love to try that in a 911.

Chris

BTW, EHS '90... Now I have to figure out how to get my car out for my 20 year reunion...
