What are your thoughts on a Copper faced 215mm pressure plate and racing?
I am wondering if you guys think a copper faced aluminum pressure plate will endure "racing temps" without chunking or blowing up. Anyone have any experience with these? We are unsure if they will endure this type of treatment.

I bought a used Aluminum 215mm Pressure plate. This one was used under racing conditions and what happened is what I was asking above....Look at it....Ouch. It will be as good as new after we resurface it with a different compound other than copper. It weigh's 3 pounds less than a stock pressure plate (9 pounds vs. 6 pounds). It was a nice find. Now, add that to an aluminum flywheel from Assco (6 pounds vs. 12 pounds stock). Not bad from going from 21 pounds spinning to 12 pounds spinning (not including the weight of the clutch disc so add another pound).
You think I will notice a difference???? ![]() ![]()
