Fuel Line Holes in the Body...did they change over the years?

I am currently installing two new fuel lines for my EFI on my '69. The car came with one 1/4" aluminum line for the carbs (as shown in the picture) and I am replacing them with 2 3/8" stainless steel hard lines. However, it seems that the holes in the body are a bit small to fit the new 3/8" lines with grommets. Does anyone know if these holes were bigger on later cars? I know that the later cars came with plastic lines that were about 3/8" in diameter, how big are the holes on these cars? Any help would be appreciated before I start opening out the stock holes.

Thanks,
Britain

I am also running new fuel lines for my EFI project. I am using Aeroquip AN-6 lines and the bulk head fittings are able to fit through the existing holes with no modification. This is on a '71.

Thanks.

Does anyone know the diameter of these holes on the cars of the 80's?
