And don't forget the new Don's AutoWerks in Campbell. Don Wise is the "D" of the original T&D crew.

Tony Heyer in Mountain View is tremendous. Very reasonablr and knows his stuff. Porsche only shop for 20+ years, Don @ CT automotive in Campbell is also highly reccomended. Another Porsche only shop for many years. The only problem there is lots of wrenches and some are not as experienced, as others. But Don is hands on and will ensure that all is sorted out right before it leaves the shop. I used both shops before I resolved to dust off my toolbox and do it all myself after swearing I would never pick up a wrench again many years ago. the therapeautic effect can not be ignored!!

Tony Heyer did the PPI on my car. I was very impressed and I wish I lived closer to him.

Correct. Don is no longer at CT automotive. I'm glad to see that he has his own shop. Besides being a straight shooter and a great guy to talk to, he's worked on my car before and does top notch work. I would definately recommend him at Don's Autowerks.

As far as CT goes, I've had them do some minor work (shift bushings) on my car since Don left and they are still doing a great job.

I will agree...& disagree
Yes Don is gone from CT automotive...& he is one of the most normal, easy to talk to 'Porsche Shop Owner Type Guys" I've ever known. He does have a new shop all his own & I'd be going there except...
the person that actually worked on my car at CT was Rolf G., not Don W., so I have stayed at CT because I'm very happy with the work Rolf does.
I've heard there is a P-car shop in Del Rey Oaks by Monterey that has a good guy running & working it. There is a shop or 2 in Santa Cruz , I've been to one (Fast Lane), once, & will never make THAT mistake again !!! There is also "Sportech" in Campbell near CT....Mark owns/runs it & he did a great rebuild on my '78SC.

Happy Hunting

I'd use Tom Amon at Mobile Works West. (the "T" of T&D -- the old partnership of Don Wise and Tom). Expert mechanic, not someone in training. Very reasonable prices, and he comes to your car! 408-429-0545.

I think it is fascinating that Tom and Don both have now ditched their regular shops in favor of a more hands-on, senior mechanic approach.

Near Leguna Seca, you can try David Loop - Loop European. Good guy and an excellent Porsche technician.
