Removing Air Conditioning Blower Motor and shrowd

1985 carrera, 3.2 litre.
I have removed the air compressor and I notice on the other side there is a large plastic shrowd that goes up to a blower motor. What is the best way to remove this? I can't seem to see where it is connected at bottom because it is between the manifold.

I see the motor is mounted on a braket at the top and the hose is connected to another part going through the bottom of the engien bay. I can't see where the plastic shrowd is connected at the bottom.

Any help?

If you're talking about the other side in the engine compartment, that blower motor is for heat. The shroud is connected to a pipe that connects the two heat exchangers. It's not part of the AC and unless you don't want heat, leave it in place.

What Don said, but just to answer your question. That blower is only connected in two places (besides the bracket you already mentioned). There is the round tube that is pretty obvious, and the second spot is not between the manifolds, but is between the distributor and manifold. To get the motor out takes removing the round tube, electrical connector, and a couple of bolts (3 I think) for the bracket tha bolts it down. Once it's out the air feed to it is removed by removing 3 bolts at the bottom, I believe.

It's really easy. Get in there and it'll be obvious.

But, like Don said, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the AC. The AC blower is in the front of the car under the hatch in the trunk.

And, if you remove the heat air feed not only will you not have heat, but you'll need to either get a heater bypass to back date or a block off plate.
