Just couldn't leave well enough alone... sigh

Thought I'd share all my recent 993 mods with the group since the SO spent some quality time with her yesterday making her all slippery and shiny... hehe... I really like the way that sounds

When I picked up this 25k mile gem in South Beach nearly 2 years ago, I thought I'd just enjoy her as is and rack up the miles. Well, I grew tired of the Lexus-style cashmere supple leather, the tame 17" wheels, the 4X4 ride height, the floaty stock handling and the so-so body. So, like any self-respecting Porsche owner, I decided to rip her apart and make her the way I wanted her.

Following is a list of mods I've done to her and a few pics before and after.

Interior:
Black 8-way power sport seats
Black rear seats, trim and center console
New black german carpet
RS shift knob
RS America door panels
New stereo (still sounds like crap)
Cup holder in center console
Black floor mats

Exterior:
New India Red paint with clear coat
RS Splitters
Turbo S ducts with lights
Remove black bumperettes and fill holes
Clear euro side lamps
New headlights
New windshield

Exhaust:
Fabspeed Maxflow exhaust with chrome tips

Suspension & Brakes:
H&R springs
Bilstein HD shocks
Lowered, aligned and corner balanced
996 18" lightweight 5 spoke wheels on new Contis
New center caps and lugs

What a difference the mods have made to the car. She no longer feels like a well-heeled Lexus, but much more like the down and dirty '84 Cab I used to own.

Sweet.... and I don't even care for convertibles!
The wheels look especially nice with the 993 body style..

Looks great! Like those new wheels.

Until we add some personal touches and the sweat of our brow to our toys, they lack the emotional attachment.

My car attached itself to my bank account early, but not my heart until I started tinkering....

Moses - she's on rails now... at least on the freeway onramps. Haven't had a chance to take her up Ortega yet. Hopefully, soon.

And thanks for all the compliments.

Keep it up, George. It's just gonna make the defeat that much harder for you.

Harder for me? Only thing that will be hard for me is choosing Belvedere or Gray Goose on your tab.

Porsche Crest Beautiful car.

You did good. I like the new S ducts on that car. Did you upgrade your headlights or just replace in kind?

I'm not usually a big fan of the Cabs looks, not bad, just lacks the 911 lines compared to the coupe, but I love yours!!!!!!! The 996 Wheels look beautiful on that car, the splitters give it a puposeful look and the ducts point at the racing heritage of the car. Now all you need to do is get rid or the fourspoke steering wheel for a 3 spoke 996 wheel. I love it! Congrats Motion, you should bring it up to Malibu for the next run up Mulholland.

In all honesty... we we ever be "done" with our cars? Isn't there always SOMETHING that can be changed/improved upon?

Just curious, but why did such a young car need to be repainted?

Nice job Motion--she looked kinda plain-girl-next-doorish and now she's a total hottie.
