Seat Fabric Covers

My car has never had AC and that's fine, but I would like to get some kind of breathable covers on the seats. I'm thinking my seats are manual vinyl sport. They are in excellent condition, but lack perforations like the leather seats provide. So what should I buy for some relief of "sweaty back" disease.

Saw these on eBay, but the design didn't grab me.....

How do I tell if they are leather, vinyl/naugahyde. Always wondered how many naugas had to be killed to cover a seat.

I wonder if Alcantera would work?

Thanks, guys. I'll check out those options. Really just need something for the hottest summer months. Seats are fine from Sept - June. May end up with a high quality sheepskin slip covers.

They look like the seats in my '78. On mine the only portion that's leather is the center seating and backrest (the ribbed portion) the rest (bolsters and headrest) are vinyl. On mine the leather portion does have small vent perforations. I didn't know Porsche offered an all vinyl seat for the SC's, I thought they were either fabric or partial leather (mine) or full leather interior. Even with the perforations leather seating can get a bit sticky on a hot day.

Mine could be recovered as I've only owned the car for 14 months. I don't have a complete history... who am I kidding, I don't have much history on it at all.

Here is something I could see as doable...

While perhaps not to everyone's taste, sheepskins suit the 70s aesthetic of the S and SCs. I've had 2 sets over the last 17 years.

Here is a recent thread asking about some sort of "artificial leather" seat covers.

Any body have seat covers from Iggee ????

Other ideas --

- find out what fabric MB is using in its seats that have ventilation ans in them (S class) - it has to be pretty permeable

- my old Recaros have fabric -- find out what they used/ are using

I agree re heat and stickiness. My '75 had had the seats redone in German leather (claimed to be Gmund leather) and the PO paid a LOT for that. But they wer ehot and sticky compared to the Recaros with fabric in my '73. Sometimes luxury isn't.
