Life of 3.2
I know this is a difficult question to answer but I'm only after an indication - what kind of mileage could you expect out of a 3.2 before any major issues arise necessitating a top/bottom end rebuild (or both).
Common problem areas or years? |

I think valve guide problems are the major thing to watch for.
It's not terribly unusual for a 3.2 to have a top end rebulid done by 90K.

Or they can go on for 200k with no probs. Mine had 125k and still good before we pulled it out for a 3.6 swap.
But Allen is right, the most common problem would be the valve guide. |

162K currently without issue. I have dropped the motor for clutch replacement and cleaning. Never an indication of valve guide issues. It's also a daily driver.

I just had a rebuild on a 3.2 with 122,000. The motor was
not that bad, it had just started to smoke. I had the money now so I just bit the bullet and did the whole enchalada. |

Valve guides 50-80K miles if at all - a good engine (3.2 variety) used would be a 100K engine with records - You could probably get another 100K out of it easily...

When we took my engine out at 101K it had no sign of wear, I swear I have seen Japanese motors with 50K with more wear.
Only reason I had a rebuild was because of my money $hift (tap my valves by mechanicaly over reving it)

120-150k. All depends on how well your rides maintained, how its driven, serviced and off course who services it.
