rear bumper gaurd

can this be replaced without taking off the bumper and lowering the muffler? I only see one bolt that appears to hold it on?

are you talking about the rubber bumper pads or the long black vinyl strip that runs around the curve of the bumper?

Not sure what year car you have but 74 on uses 3 studs/nuts on the bumper pads. I never have tried to take them off with the bumper on the car but give it a try. There will be 2 wires for the license light.

there are 2 and you need to get to them from the inside of the bumper. You would either need to remove the muffler or pull the bumper out. The bumper is not hard, pull the little plugs out, remover the shock bolts holding it on and the accordian and rocker bolts. Then, slide it out to get to the pads.

I have changed the rear pads with the bumper and muffler in place. I have a Bursch now but I seem to recall doing it with the original larger muffler in place. It is a tight fit and is probably easier to drop the bumper
