turn signal switch diagram
 

Does anyone have a simple pinout diagram for the turn signal switch?

I need to take mine out and clean it up and test it, but it helps to know what pins are what so I can test with my ohmmeter.

I have a wiring diagram of the whole car, but it's a bit fuzzy around the switch.

Well, I can see on the wiring diagram that I found on this site pin numbers, but it's fuzzy when I magnify it a bit to try to see it. Hopefully it will be enough to go off of when I remove the switch for testing.

If anyone has anything more clear, it would be appreciated! ;)

not sure what you need, from the workshop manual:
ignition/starter switch
terminal 30 - red-white
terminal 57a - grey
light switch
terminal 56 - yellow and white-black
terminal 58L - grey-black
terminal 58R - grey-red
warning light switch
terminal L - black-white
terminal R - black-green
terminal 49a - black-white-greeen

Just something that helps me check the functionality using an ohmmeter.

I magnified the wiring diagram and managed to get something. I think I can go off of it.

From what I can see, pin 30 is the common for the high/low beam switch, with pins 56a, 56b and 56 being the 'outputs'.

Then for the signals, pin 57 is switched between the outputs at pin 57L and 57R. Pin 49a then is switched between pins 49L and 49R.

If they are labelled on the connector, and also having the wire color code, I think I should be able to test the switch adequately.

I DO know the high/low beam switch works normally, and feels like there is a good solid 'click' (not audible) when it switches position. However, as this is used much less than the turn signals, it's not likely to be indicative of a working switch. The up and down motion of the switch lever is a bit 'mushy' compared to the forward and back motion of the headlight switch. Anyone know if this could be indicative of a failing or failed signal switch?

I'm thinking I may take that file down to Kinkos and have them print it in large scale and laminate it. Would make a good reference!

Anyone got any good tips/tricks for checking out and cleaning up the turn signal switch? What can I use to clean it out? What other things should I check in the circuit?
