So how does the "buddy list" work?

There are a lot of people here whose posts I don't like to miss. Can I just put them on my buddy list? Will they be informed that I have put them on my list? I don't want them to think I'm stalking them or looking for a date. :D

good question.

I just clicked on your 'buddy' button.

. . .oh, and I like long walks on the beach and.. .

as far as i can tell, it creates a buddy list in your user cp accnt. . . .so you can tell who's on-line . . .or want to make bulk(spam) PM's out to all your "buddies"

What if I want to be alerted when certain people post? For example, why not have a database of all 3.6 transplant owners so you can follow their posts?

I'm not getting any ping (that I can see) when you post (buddy-Moses).
So,I think that you'll have to just follow those 3.6 threads.

. . .anything different on your side? (since I put you on my "list")

You can see all your "Buddies" in a list in your Control Panel (see User CP button at top right of this page). I use it to keep a list of Bay Area Pelicans that I've met on fun runs.

You can "subscribe" to threads by clicking on the "Subscribe to this thread" button at the bottom of this page. It will send you an email each time someone posts.

As for notifying you when a particular user posts, I think it can be done, but I ain't sure how. I'll poke around and see if I can figure it out.
