Smoke at idle

I just got my car on the road ( it's been sitting five years ) it runs and idles great but I have a problem of after I drive it it smokes ( oil ) at idle. I would thank any advice or ideas I was thinking valves maybe but I am not sure.

Change the oil....make sure it's NOT over filled.

I just changed the oil and I believe it is at the correct level but my gauge sometimes reads 1/2 and sometimes is pegged. Should I take a quart out ?

Smoke on decel is most likely valve guides....so...that's good that it doesn't do THAT....

MY personal preference on oil level is one tick up from the bottom of the dipstick when checked with engine running and warm....

At idle, it could just be burning off excess oil ingested into the throttle body. Should burn off soon...but can keep doing so if the oil in the tank is too high.

By one tick you mean the first mark about an inch up ? Boy I have to say this car is so fast compared to my 944s and I took it up on the highway the tubo spooling up in a tunnel makes on hell of a noise, I can't believe I bought this thing for $ 4,500 ! Of course I dropped another five thousand to get it running. Thanks for the help.
