Lets see your cool DE decals

Going to do a few DE's this summer and gosh darnit I want to look like a race car even if its "not really racing". Looking for ideas for big door or hood decals that I can take off when not at the track. Tell us where you got them too.

I made magnetic numbers by creating an image in Photoshop, printing and laminating at Kinkos then attaching it to magnetic backing with self adhesive on the other side (available at the hobby store).....

I suppose you could do the same with any image you like.

Jon, I've been trying to talk the Board into allowing cars to have "fixed" DE number, so that you would always be 683, or whatever, and then get nice decals made. I have not met with much success yet...

I bought mine from Rennline....

I must say I am not too hapy with them as they tend to fly off... (there was supposed to be a 3rd number on the hood)

Maybe I am just too fast...

Our PCA issues permanent numbers. It's a great convenience....good luck.

I couldn't keep the quasi-magnetic numbers on when the track was reasonably fast (Glen), so I went to permanent numbers (303). I've always been given 303 when I request it, maybe because I usually sign up pretty early.

A strip of clear tape on the leading edge of the magnet meat balls will keep air from lifting them. Some wax should be applied on the section you will cover...to prevent marring of the paint.

I would love to leave my numbers on my cars all the time, but with 6" numbers and the graphics...it's a bit much for my commutes to work..

Yeah

"69" is always avaliable as well....

but mine is a daily driver... it would be a little too much to park it at work...

Here's a little racers tape, magnetic sheets and vinyl cut images:

I'm sorta fanatic about protecting the front from rock chips and scratches...too bad I should be more worried about the nut behind the wheel

I restored this car to its original branding from the 1992 German Carrera Cup.

Brad - Car's running great. Just got some sticky new Avons on it this week. The need for new shocks is now apparent (it never ends...)
