911 Tune-up DVD on eBay

A fellow Pelican pointed this out to me today (thanks Charles!). I had been looking for the Porsche maintenance video for a while. Anyway, I just placed it on order and will post a review here if anyone's interested. Or, you may just want to buy it for yourself since it's pretty cheap. I'm sure it won't replace either Wayne's 101 book or Bentley's. But if it is as advertised, it'll have been a bargain.

Oh yeah, of course no affiliation at all with the seller. And, sorry if this is a repost.

Hey, I like his train of thought!

If that went back to 69-70, I'd love a copy of it!

Ok, just saw the DVD during my lunch break so it wasn't very long (30 mins). The camera they used had really high resolution so it's packed with excellent shots. If you're a visual person like me and the pics in Bentley's and 101 books left you wanting for more, get this DVD. Step-by-step instructions for valve adjustments, replacing plugs, setting the idle, air-fuel mixture, and timing that even I can follow.

Again, this is not going to replace either book mentioned above but it does help inspire confidence if one's mechanical abilities are lacking. If you feel you can learn to do each task above simply by reading the books a couple of times, then this DVD is not for you. If you require more detail and pictures, you can't go wrong with this $35 DVD. I think I just saved myself the $800 a wrench was going to charge me for services above.

Sadly, for the couple of folks who PM'd me, this DVD is for SCs only.

That silver 911S is mine. I provide my car for some of the footage and the engine sound track.

The video would probably help most air-cooled 911 owners with a valve adjustment and a few other maintenance items.

I sent an email to Nuvideo regarding my '85 911, and here's the response I got:

"Thanks for your interest. The 3.2 engine is very different tho the process is very similar. I would wait until we offer the Carrera version which will be out by summer."

Hope this helps,

Gus
