CV Joint Explosion
Well Kind of...
I was reinstalling my engine today. When it came time to bolt the cv joints back to the transmission I must of let too much slack in the cv joint because the next thing I know there are six ball bearings rolling across the garage floor. I cleaned them up and managed to stick them back in. Is this normal? Is something wrong with my CV joint or did I screw up?

Wow I expected to hear this from Juan. You should be okay as long as you got them back in the cage in exactly the same order......you did get them back in the same order didn't you?
Just having some fun...just regrease the joint and you should be fine. It does seem odd that all 6 balls fell out how old is the joint? you might be in the market for a joint in the not to distant future if it is really loose. |

there is a certain orientation where these come apart
don't worry about it - as long as you got all the grit off of them and got grease well into all the nooks, if not the crannies
