A case of the phantom fuel pump

I am desperately trying to repair or replace the fuel pump on my 1972 911t if only I could find it! As purchased, it is running with a webber powered 1971 engine.

Most pictures show access to the fuel pump as underneath the front belly pan which is reached by removing the section of the belly pan that is under the fuel pump. However on my car, the only view is of several connection points for the fuel pump lines. The main body of the pump is behind the vertical wall which most pictures show as immediately behind the pump itself. I have not found any access point whatsoever that allows me to access the pump itself or maybe just additional pump lines that terminate at the pump further on toward the engine??

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Is it possible someone relocated the fuel pump to the engine bay?

Try inside the left rear wheel on a bracket on the torsion bar tube.

Thanks for your help. Not in the engine bay. John walker's suggestion is promising. I'll give it a look and report back as soon as I lower the currently jacked up front end.

EUREKA. The fuel pump has been found!! It was just as J. Walker described. Thank you all for your help. On to repairing and.or replacing the pump.

Thats the stock location for that year. Many people relocate them up front as the factory did later.
