Need help with seat switch

This is some kind of a cruel joke. Of course these things were assembled by guys in white coats (straitjackets?). Anyhow, how do I reassemble this switch with the seat in the car?

The problem is keeping the ball bearings on the springs while tilting the thing and not dropping any of the parts. I imagine there is some grease I could use to hold it in place, but I don't know what conducts electricity and what doesn't.

Or is there a way to pull the switch out a little further so I can drop it on top of the part that popped out.

I just took mine apart, cleaned and put them back together and success!! they work again. I did a search and came up with various methods. All require taking the seat off the track to get at the wiring underneath, taking the switch apart, clean contacts and reassembling with them upside down so the stinking ball bearing doesn't fall off. Best method I read was taking the wring harnes out completely by disconnecting it. I went the short cut and cut the wires to take the switch out and then reconnecting by using a splice. I tested them before reassembling everything. First time I tried the ball bearing must have fallen out so suggest you do the same.

How about gluing the ball bearings in place? Would that work?

If I need to take the seat out, what do I jump to get the thing to move? I managed to short it out ad blow a fuse the only time I tried.

I tried an electrical jell to hold the ball in place. Didn't work. They still fell out.

I didn't jump wire the switch. I reconnected the wires but did not put it back into the seat. It just hung under the seat which when the seat is unbolted can be laid on its side without disconnecting it from the wiring going to it. I tested the connections by pressing the seat switch in each direction to make sure it worked. nothing shorted out which is a miracle for me. Hope this makes sense. Try the search button. There are a number of references to seat swutch problems including an excellent one with pictures that helped me.
