Spring cleaning

No, nothing about cleaning springs...

Winter has finally left the building so I got the car out for the first drive of the season. After messing around with parts all winter, and a full day of engine detailing, she's looking pretty good. I'm amazed at the tole moisture takes on things. Everything that I spent time polishing last Fall was covered with corrosion and had to be done all over again.
After going through the carbs changing jets and venturies, as well as replacing all the fuel lines with SS braided hoses and billet fuel filter, she started on the first crank. Not bad for sitting for several months.

Thought I better take a pic while it still shines. Hope all the other Winter shut-ins are getting out.

Steve,
What a great-looking engine! How about pics of the rest of the car?

Hi Art,

Not great shots, but I snapped a few today. Yes that is snow in the foreground. You can relate, being from Michigan. I'm originally from Traverse City.

How about some Smiley Face Wheel Centers to match your key fob?!
Nice ride!

Thanks guys-

You're right about the crest horn button, especially since I don't have a Momo wheel anymore. I just haven't been able to bring myself to spend more for a horn button than I did for the wheel. The one that's on there now I took apart and airbrushed the little ring with the body color.

Joe- I like that idea for the wheel centers. When looking at all the keyfobs available, it struck me that this one really fit the way the car makes me feel. I refinished the wheels over the winter and changed the 80's look gold centers to graphite which looks much better. I actually made a mould and produced a set of fiberglass Porsche crest center caps for the wheels, but haven't perfected an attachment method yet.

Always seems to be a hundred more things to do!
