71 911 leaking bright blue fluid...?

Hi all,

I recently noticed a small puddle of very blue fluid collecting underneath the old 911 - pretty much right at the center of the car.

The color is kind of throwing me off, since I'm not sure what it could be. Usually if I saw blue fluid I'd think it was antifreeze...

Is it transmission fluid?

Or is there such a thing as blue brake fluid? I haven't bled the brakes since I've owned the car.

Any suggestions would be helpful...

thanks!

There is such a thing as blue brake fluid, easy to check. Is it windshield washer fluid?

Swepco 201 tranny fluid is blue as is ATE Blue brake fluid.

where excatly is the puddle? Is is near the nose of the tranny? Lift the plate betwen the rear seats (inside the car) that is used to access the shifter coupling. If the shifter seal is leaking, you will see a puddle there.

Sander, you're right, it's transmission fluid called Swepco.
Check your seals.

As it is a 911 it could be one of 3 fluids. Washer fluid, ATE brake fluid, or Swepco tranny fluid. All of which are blue.

Thanks all - sounds like it could be a few different things - I'll take a closer look...
