Guys,
I bought a late 930 metal body conversion for my 80 911SC. Unfortunately, I didn't think everything through, especially the wheels. I contacted Weldman Wheels and Harry told me he can widen my 6's and 7's to 9 and 10 respectively. However, the cost is now going a little beyond my control at least for the moment. I have a set of replica 16x7's and 16x8's that I would like to use until I can afford to get my real Fuchs completed. The car is in the body shop now so there isn't any turning back at this point. What I'd like to do is run a wide spacer from H&R but in honesty, I know only enought to hurt myself or mess up the car. How large of a spacer would I have to use in order to make the 7's work up front and the 8's in the rear. This would save me a lot of money right now and help me get my better half off my back. I've been a 944 guy for 11 years and I don't have enough 911 knowledge to feel comfortable doing this without help. What should I do? I know there are other wheels out there but I'm committed to the Fuch wheels. Please advise on this board or to: james.r.hamm@us.army.mil I'm deployed in Iraq right now so I'm at the mercy of the body shop and a friend who is helping me from Fort Bragg, NC. Respectfully, James....

I have 7 & 9's with a 50mm spacer (rear) none in the front with 245s and it fills the wheel wells fine.
Later I will go with the 11's in the rear and 9's in the front. For the rear and move the backspacing in the new rim 2 inches inward to gain the same thing (offset) that I now have. |

930's came from the factory with spacers.

On my first conversion I had to run 1" spacers up front and 2" in the rear to push the SC offset wheels to the lip.

You could probably get away with running nothing in the front and 2" in the back. 1" in the front would be nice however.

Thanks a lot guys. At least I know it can be done until the funds are more readily available. I was worried.

Many of the factory 930's came with 7 and 8's. My stock 79 had 7 and 8's and my 79 DP came with 9's and 11's.
