pedal cluster rebuild-brake pedal spring
What does everone do for the brake pedal spring when rebuilding the cluster? The spring is NLA. Does it need replacement? What do rebuilding services do? I guess I'm assuming that it's ok just to reuse the old one.

Who says that they are NLA. Part #90142353100 $9.95 in stock at Stoddard. Mid America lists them in their catalog for $12.99 so Pelican probably has them. The above part number is for the early car. You didn't say which car you needed the spring for. The later spring 1978-1989 is #91142353103 and is cheaper.

Jim, it's for a '72 cluster. I was just going by the PP website, which indicates them as NLA.
So that leaves the question: would you replace it as part of the rebuild?

If my old one was very rusty I would. If just surface rust, clean paint with black rust o leum and you are good to go. I checked PP website after posting and was surprised at the NLA listing. Sometimes only the dealer can get them. Good Luck.
