Heat/Vent Cable-Where to Buy?

Had a broken heater cable and need a replacement section of wire. The sheath is in good shape.
Did a search and couldn't find a previous thread I thought I saw on getting replacements at a bike shop? Checked locals shops and Home Depot/Lowes, and all they have are braided wire.
Other than factory wire, has anyone replaced their wire with aftermarket? (Thought I would go ahead and replace the three vent cables while I was at it, so I need quite a few feet.)

I bought mine at a local lawnmower repair shop, they have several sizes, should have the right size you need, I posted something about it when I did mine, it was stainless solid wire, so I should not have to worry about it again, I bought enough to do both sides at least 2 times, was about 3 or 4 dollars total if I remember right. Check my previous posting on this. Good luck.

Here's one for you, the heater boxes for a '66 have been superceded, no surprise. Unfortunately the heater cable in '66 wasn't long enough, and didn't have the correct end fitting, for the later boxes. So mine are wired shut for max heat.

Anyone have thoughts on how to get the correct end and the correct cable length?
