bug shield
 

I just finished a road trip from Grass Valley (northern cal) to Manhattan Beach (southern cal) The trip was down 5 and back. I must have collected 1,000s of bugs on the windshield (not to mention other parts of the front fo the car.

I was wondering if anyone has played with some type of bug shield? I assume it would be homemade as I haven't found any for sale.

I was thinking it could fasten under the hood and flare back. Would something tlike that work?

Put 3M invisible film on the front end ( bumper,1/3 of the hood and the side mirrors ) and say asta levasta to bugs :D
I have this film on all my cars and although not cheap but saves me lots of headache/time keeping the front end clean and not to mention saving the front end from the rock chips.

Really? Sounds good. Is it easy on the paint and wax? Do you have a pic of your car while it's on?

This season's heavy rain has resulted in a ton of bugs. Every time i take a drive my car is covered in bug guts. Requires numerous washings to protect the paint. I can clean the windshield easily enough, but the hood, fenders, and bumber are getting wasted. Time for another wash and wax!

The thing is so clear that even in person ( 3 feet ) it's hardly noticeable.Any way you can get all the info about this product at www.xpel.com and when you are ready to order let me know and i'll hook you up with the guy whom i bought my stuff from.This thing is not cheap but it definately saves the paint not mentioning the time scrubing the bumper without it ;)
