911 Sunroof headliner
Hi,
The headliner around the sunroof of my '85 Coupe started coming off, so wanting to glue it back on I had to take the sunroof out. When doing so I had to take the headliner off the sunroof. Upon further inspection, the glue around the frame had come off completely (which is why it was sagging too). There seems to be an intricate way of how the different vinyl pieces should be glued to the frame. Does someone know or have pictures of what it should look like? For example, there is a separate strip of vinyl about 2' long and 1 1/2" wide which is completely loose. Thanks!

Hey, I can help with this one! This is from a 912, but should be the same as your 911.

thanks!
Thanks Natog - this does help.
One more thing, is the vinyl headliner attached at all to the crossbar? It looks like the loose piece I was talking about just rests on top of the bar. Is that how it looks on yours? Thanks, Henrik

Re: thanks!
The main piece of headliner is not attached to the cross bar. It has a sewn in piece of cloth to prevent the bar from rubbing through, but it is not attached.
The long narrow strip is glued to the cross bar. Here is another pic which may help. ![]() |
