Papa Smurf Update.

Well it finally got above freezing in the afternoon. I trimmed the A-arm mount patch Zeke sent me and got one turbo tie rod put in. Progress is slow but I need to have it on the road by April 9th for a PCA drive so I will probably pick up the pace real soon.

that's kind of a scary patch. How are you planning on getting the alignment right when you weld in the new patch?

I drilled out all the factory spot welds so I have a reference front to back and side to side. It takes alot more than that to scare me.....like go-carts or whales.

Do whales on go-karts scare you?

Looks good. Was there any rust that continued across the box section between the a-arm mounts? Looks really thin where you cut out the section.

Have fun with the welder...

Dont laugh at my beautiful welds. I still need to grind them down and weld the rest of the patch in. I plan to do that tonight. Should be on the road in a week or so.

Did that happen during "the incident"? I don't remember seeing that damage when your front a-arm was pulled off. What is your club event on the 9th?

Besides, unless you replace that whole clip, the front will just fall off man!

In fact, that car must be a parts car! oh hey dibs on the 3.2 when you part her out

I can't belive you haven't told them that the real reason you found the curb was the darn Titanium monkey was chasing you!

I hope to have all the welding done tonight. My welding skills are borderline so I do have a "pro" coming over to keep an eye on me. But he works for Pizza so I can afford it.
We have a tech session at the local dealership and we all meet up for a drive. I set that deadline to kinda push me along since I didnt get much done this winter.
The damage was discovered after "the incident" but not caused by it.

Dennis we all know that my car will eventually implode and take half the USA with it...

Hi Shawn,

Wish I could fix my cars with Pizza. Maybe I'll suggest that to Marty next time I see him. When is the O'Daniel's Tech day? Are you going down to Dayton for the Taj Event? Thanks.
