FRONT monoballs in OEM strut mounts vs. aftermarket??
What features / benefits do higher priced camber plates offer over Porsche OEM strut mounts (maybe elephant racing's product for example)? I was thinking of buying front Mono-balls and installing them into standard strut mounts to save the few hundred $$$ over the aftermarket setups. Do they simply offer more adjust-ability and option of more negative camber?
Maybe more stiffness / less flex in the mount itself? Thank you, Doug |

Offset camber plates get you more camber. If you don't need the camber, you might as well go with the less-expensive monoball cartridges. Both products provide precise positioning of the strut top.

Chuck,
Thanks for your reply. How about slotting the mounting holes? Is that a viable option? How much difference in camber do you get with offset plates w/ stock geometry of all other parts? Doug

Slotting the mounting bolts can buy you a bit more camber, maybe 1/4 degree. Then you are limited by the camber plate body running into the strut tower on the underside. That's where the camber plates can help. The plates are good for about 3/4 degree extra.
