1984 930, K-27 Turbo, Kokeln Intercooler, Adjustable(sort of boost)
Car was shutting down under boost so I turned boost down to .6max. Quit shutting down but ran lean. Switched relays around (fronts are all black, one red in rear/engine comportment) Now fuel ratio is better but when hitting boost over .7 Bar car now misfires and apears to go lean. I have ordered new relays but have been advised to check overboost switch/relay. I disconnected sensor on intercooler which was described as said switch not wanting to ground the wrong wire. I assumed if this was correct the car would not start, however it did. Problem persisted and I looked for the "white wire" wich I found to already be grounded. 1. Will new relays possibly correct this ? Should the 2 relays in front be red instead of black ? Is the red in the rear correct? 2. If overboost is already grounded/non-existant can the rear relay be bypassed/eliminated? 3. Or am I chasing the wrong ghost, possibly a distributor vacuum problem? I realize this is an extensive post however I have DE scheduled in 2 weeks and I'm starting to panic. Thank you very much for your time considering this.
