My Tues. night date w/ Webers

Ah good times!

Got my webers back from Paul at www.performanceoriented.com the other day and decided to assert my place in the home by rebuilding them on the coffee table whilst enjoying some History Channel (wife was out of town)

I had Paul rebush the throttle shafts and they are tight and smooth as butter! Definitely recommend this guy. He spent more time educating me on these things than he was paid for that's for sure. Most importantly turnaround was 1 week.

yes, you read that right; weber rebushing in 1 week Matt Blast said he was at 12 weeks. i opted to try the 'new guy' and am glad i did (he's NOT new to 911's or machining though!).

Paul looked the carbs over, gave me a VERY nice detail of the wear and gave me options for repair. He saved me $$ doing this and he didn't have to.

Something else i figured out last night; when blowing into the accelerator thingies i found one to be clogged. compressed air didn't help. So i took a small pair of pliers and pulled 1 needle from a brass brush i had (a clean one!) and used the pliers to hold it while inserting it into the ever so tiny hole. Once dislodged i blew the grit out with the compressor and all is good again!

Forgot to mention; while he does offer bead blasting i didn't opt for it. he does clean the carbs in any case but my concern was to get them tight and not worry about appearances.

Also, packaging was very nice (completely 'crated' and screwed down).
