Welmeister fr sway bar install question.
 

Can anyone show me or give me dimensions for installing a 22mm front sway bar that is thru the body? I have underbody now and am changing and need to know where to place mounting plates for exact fit. Thanks!

There should be round "flats" stamped into the body where an upper bar would go. Maybe the mid year cars didn't have that on the inner fender, but look for them. If not, I'll measure my car for you.

You have to get it right because the bar goes right next to the gas tank. In fact, you have so littl choice on postion that you could take a steel bar with a point groun on the end and slip it right behind the tank ans just below the shelf, hold it level against the inner side of the inner fender and give it a tap like a huge center punch. Get out the hole saw and go to town.

Be careful of battery cables running to the back in the left side as well as a few other wires that are fairly important. ;) It's a good idea to make a stop on your hole saw out of a hose clamp or something. Same with your drill when you go to drill the mounting holes.

Thank you. I will look for the marks. Like you said, I want this done right and can do it my self. When I picked up the front and rear bars there were no instructions.

You will also have to cut/grind the bushing mounts off of your current a-arms to fit the new bracket on for the drop links.

I'm currently installing mine and there is an indentation on the inside of the fenderwell that marks where the hole should be drilled. Watch out for cables/gas tank behind it. I ground off the factory tabs on my control arms last night to fit the new U-tab brackets (that connect the control arm to the drop links) I ordered for my Weltmeister bars I picked up used. I used a sawzall with hacksaw blade to cut tab off and then a grinder to smooth. Be careful not to cut into the control arm itself which may create a weak spot.

Thanks. I have grinder, sawzall and such. Trying to do as much as possible to save cost. Hopefully getting motor/tranny and paint work done soon. I'm beyond ready to drive the car.
