I replaced the accumulator and fuel filter of my 1975 911s 2.6L Porsche and now it will start for 30 seconds and then quit. It would not start again unless I let it sit idle for a couple of hours. Then it runs for 30 seconds and quits again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I must ask,......is your new fuel filter installed correctly? Do the printed arrows on the filter case point toward the engine? Second, check the fuel pressure relief valve in the outlet of the filter.

Steve, thanks for your response. The arrow on the filter is pointing towards the engine fuel line. The pressure relief valve which I believe attaches almost directly to the filter is also new. How do you determine which one of the outlets in the pressure relief valve is inflow or outflow?

Possible that some dirt/deposits came loose when you worked on the fuel lines and connections and were washed into the fuel system blocking a line. Tou migth try flushing the lines between filter and engine and check if your injectors work properly.

After you change the filter, bleed the air from the system by removing the airbox cover and lifting the air flow sensor plate up with the fuel pump running. hold it there several seconds and put the cover back...then start her up.

Thnks for the reply, bleed the air from the system and pulled a fuel injector out to make sure gas was flowing to the injectors.
Now, when I crank it up a great deal of fuel leaks out through the exhaust and it won't start. Any thoughts? Thanks

Beats me?? Maybe take a look at the position of your throttle lever.
Also, make sure you just don't have an actual fuel leak around the accumulator or behind the engine..or have knocked/left something loose after your work. Also, make sure your airbox cover is back on correctly/sealing.

Checked for fuel leaks and could not find any, the throttle lever looks fine, and the hood is installed tightly.
I pulled a couple of injectors, put the ingition on (without cranking the engine), and they started spraying non-stop. Could this be a sign?
