Oil lines-Replace with stock or Aeroquip?

Both of the oil lines coming from the thermostat and going into the engine, from my 1985 Carrera, are damp from 20 good years of use. They are by no means leaking wildy, but it is just one of those "trying to stop all leaks" things.

Anyway, does anyone happen to have any suggestions as to if I should just replace them with stock hoses, or should I make the jump to Aeroquip.

Pros and cons of Aeroquip?

estimated pricing for those who have done it?

Thanks a lot!!

Don't know what the advantages/disadvantages would be, other than Aeroquip looking BTO, as we used to say in the airplane bidness (big-time operator...), but I just bought two lengths of Aeroquip hose of about that size--in my case to run from the front end of the bronze pipes in the right front fenderwell to a nose-mounted B&B oil cooler--and they cost $154 apiece. Plus you'll need AN-to-metric adapters at both ends of each hose, and they're $50 apiecve, for another $200. so your total would probably be inthe region of $510.

Elephant Racing Lines? That's what I would go with...

Bill,

Of the two choices ... I suggest none of the above!

You can take the hose assemblies off and have an industrial hose supply shop replace the old hose and crimp new rings onto your old hard pieces. Very reasonably priced, even with the highest grade hose which will exceed factory specs! Be sure to emphasize that the angular relationship of the ends needs to be precisely preserved! Scribe the pieces yourself ... if you want to be sure!

Yeah what Warren said.

I would MAKE out of AN and braided lines if I didn't have the fittings or old lines to retrofit.

I didn't read it carefully enough the first time - not those lines - doh!

Warren, thanks! Now if I can only find a hose supply shop - any suggestions?

Are we talking for like hydraulic and farm equipment? Will they be able to reuse the exisitng connectors, aren't those going to be worn out????
