Help finding obsolete part...

I'm sure there is another thread regarding this pristine 72T somewhere on this forum..

Surely one of this guys friends is bumping the price on this car...

Here's a link from this board to my car which is currently at ZIMS AUTOTEKNIK in Bedford.... I've been "out of commision for nearly two years....took that long for me to save enough $$ to even consider getting this "bastardized" ride back on the road..

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=112964&highlight=DALLAS +PORSCHE+ORGY

My car is the "yeller" one...if your from the south... Interpreted as "Signal yellow"...

Long story short... I'm looking for the covers on the front spoiler if your not running fog lights.... I actually have a pair off of a '71 model car but they just don't fit right. I'm wondering if these cover's, as they appear on most cars, fit right into the spaces/slots, or if there is a bit of expected overlay.

Any help or part numbers would be greatly appreciated! I'd hate to just thrash the original look and slap a fiberglass fender on the front.

Any ideas...comments...flames...

One question:
Do you have the rubber gasket that fits around the covers?
They will not fit correctly without them.
One more question:
Which is your car?
I looked thru the thread a couple of times and could not find it.

902.505.055.21.GRV (L)
902.505.056.21.GRV (R)

Piping (seal behind cover)
902.505.153.20 (NLA)
(Try 999.911.084.40 as a replacement - may have to cut to fit)

Holder (Mount for cover)
902.505.145.21

The catalog still lists them as available (except where noted)
Try a dealer - it may have to be backordered from Germany

This is my car.... if the link doesn't work... I'm obviously older than this vehicle and should just give up with this whole PC thing...

Poorsha.... my vehicle is the only yellow car in the posted thread..... I've got a feeling you're just yankin' my chain

:D

Both of the covers I have from the 71T model have the rubber gaskets....however they both overlap the holes on my 72T...both of the covers are complete with the nuts and "holder mounts" basically a 6 inch piece of "U" shaped metal to secure the covers to the spoiler...

Thanks to AFjuvat and Poorsha.... I should just change my name to Xtrapoorsha...

I'll run those numbers and see what I can find!

Thanks!

Jon,
You mean this one?:

Very cool.
My first Porsche was a 72 coupe back in 1980.
Kept her for 19 years (still miss her).

Not sure why the covers you have do not fit properly.
I guess pics are out of the question? :)
And no, I wasn't pulling your chain. I was looking for a piece of junk not the car above. It looks great.

Jon,

I am in Dallas as well. I have a couple of extra passenger side fog light covers. If you want to check one out to see where the fitting issue lies, you are welcome to swing by. PM me if you want.

Thanks!

Yeah...that's the one!

Thanks for your feedback. NeilK I'll PM you when I get the car back and see if we can figure out where the problem lies.

Thanks again!

ps.. Now all I have to do is figure out how you got that pic in there:confused:
